About Sacred Tea Ceremonies

I personally feel that the times we are experiencing call for us to strengthen our own personal spiritual practices and also a call for us to come together in more profound ways than ever before. I believe that the space Sacred Tea Ceremony provides supports both of these honorable callings.

Tea Ceremony is a sacred art, an experience that opens the doors of our inner heart and grants us access to places within that may be difficult to touch on our own.

Sacred Tea Ceremony is a journey into the Heart.

Sacred Tea Ceremony in St. Petersburg, Florida

Ashley is honored to have been able to introduce the practice of the Cha Dao Sacred Tea Ceremony  to the East Coat of the United States in 2016. Being one of the few original students to study directly at the Global Tea Hut with it’s founder WuDe, world renowned tea master, author and Zen monk, while living abroad in Taiwan, she is a dedicated student and daily practitioner.

Cha Dao, or Sacred Tea Ceremony is a practice that has its roots in shamanistic Taoism and Zen Buddhism. The earliest written records of Tea describe this plant found in the wild as Medicine that brightened the eyes and opened the Heart. It was domesticated by monks for its ability to support calm and awakened presence and sustain practitioners in extended meditation.

Tea is a plant spirit medicine and comes with her own wisdom and intelligence. The leaves used in our practice are ceremonial grade and come from living trees that are hundreds of years old, meaning that when we sit in ceremony and receive this medicine, we are also drinking in the hundred’s years’ worth of moon, star, and sunshine. This wise medicine always delivers exactly what we need, and every tea sitting is different and offers healing for all people who feel called to receive.

Tea Ceremony is a unique and heartfelt way to come together with meaning and intention. Individuals interested in tea can come for a 1-on-1 sitting, as a couple, with friends, family, for special occasions such as birthday’s, weddings, anniversaries, or added to a retreat, or company event. It is also a powerful ally in supporting and assisting in healing memories and grief.

My greatest teacher of all has been the Leaf and my own Heart. The countless hours that I have sat and communed with this great and healing plant spirit and the wisdom she has shared with me in Sacred.

If you have felt the call to sit in ceremony, the time is now to respond to that inner voice. Follow your intuition and your true heart's calling to this truly profound and life changing experience.

I currently offer sacred tea ceremonies in St. Petersburg, Tampa, Sarasota and other areas of Florida.

Tea is an act complete in its simplicity. When I drink tea, there is only me and the tea. The rest of the world dissolves. There are no worries about the future. No dwelling on past mistakes. Tea is simple: loose-leaf tea, hot pure water, a cup. I inhale the scent, tiny delicate pieces of the tea floating above the cup. I drink the tea, the essence of the leaves becoming a part of me. I am informed by the tea, changed. This is the act of life, in one pure moment, and in this act the truth of the world suddenly becomes revealed: all the complexity, pain, drama of life is a pretense, invented in our minds for no good purpose. There is only the tea, and me, converging.

*I am not affiliated with Global Tea Hut, and must acknowledge the gratitude in my heart for the time I got to spend there in deep study while living abroad in Taiwan. Without Wude’s steadfast dedication to the Way of Tea, this practice would never have reached so far and wide. Deep + eternal bows to his work in sharing his wisdom of this sacred Plant Medicine.
